The Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, attended the inauguration of paved roads and office buildings for government ministries and institutions at Mtumba Government City in Dodoma on 30 October 2026.

The ceremony was presided over by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, accompanied by her guest, the President of the Republic of Angola, H.E. João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, and attended by national and international dignitaries.

The inauguration marks an important step towards improving the working environment across government, facilitating coordination among ministries and institutions, and enhancing access to public services.

The newly inaugurated road network spans 57.1 kilometres and was constructed to bitumen standard at a cost of TSh 110.5 billion. It connects various areas within Government City, facilitating travel for public servants and citizens seeking services, while the office buildings provide improved facilities for government operations.

For the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, an improved working environment and stronger institutional coordination support the fulfilment of its responsibilities in natural resource conservation, tourism development and service delivery to stakeholders.

President Lourenço’s participation in the ceremony also reflects the friendship and solidarity between Tanzania and Angola, further strengthening the longstanding ties between the two countries.
