AFRICA’S CREDIT UNIONS URGED TO EXPAND AFFORDABLE LOANS FOR WOMEN AND YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS
Tanzania's 981 licensed savings and credit cooperatives held TZS 1.69 trillion in assets and served approximately 1.9 million members by the end of 2025, Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo said as he urged African financial cooperatives to strengthen governance, accelerate digital innovation and expand affordable credit.
