TANZANIA, TÜRKİYE EXPLORE NEW INDUSTRIAL INVESTMENTS THROUGH MÜSİAD PARTNERSHIP
Tanzania has invited Turkish investors to expand their presence in manufacturing, technology and agro-processing following talks between Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade Dennis Londo and a MÜSİAD business delegation in Dar es Salaam.
DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania, October 16, 2026 — Tanzania has invited Turkish businesses to invest in manufacturing, technology and agricultural processing as the government seeks to attract foreign capital, create jobs and strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The invitation was extended by Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Dennis L. Londo (MP), during talks with a delegation from the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association of Türkiye (MÜSİAD) in Dar es Salaam on October 16, 2026.
During the meeting, Londo welcomed MÜSİAD's recognition of Tanzania as a strategic investment and trade hub for East and Central Africa, encouraging the association's members to explore opportunities in agro-processing, textiles, technology and industrial production infrastructure.
He said the government, under the leadership of President H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, was continuing to improve policies and legislation to create a more enabling, secure and competitive investment environment for domestic and foreign investors.
Tanzania offers access to wider African markets
Londo highlighted Tanzania's strategic position as a gateway to regional and continental markets, citing opportunities available through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the East African Community (EAC).
"We welcome MÜSİAD members to invest in Tanzania, either through joint ventures or independently. Our market extends beyond Tanzania, connecting investors to opportunities within AfCFTA, SADC and the EAC," Londo said.
The Deputy Minister emphasised that increased Turkish investment in productive sectors could support industrial development, facilitate technology transfer, expand value addition to agricultural products and generate employment opportunities.
Turkish businesses express interest in industrial investment
The head of the MÜSİAD delegation described Tanzania as an attractive investment destination, citing its geographical position and political stability as important considerations for prospective investors.
The delegation indicated that MÜSİAD, which brings together an extensive network of businesses, was prepared to facilitate investment capital and modern technologies to support Tanzania's industrial development.
The discussions also explored opportunities to strengthen business partnerships and promote investment projects capable of expanding industrial production and supporting economic cooperation between Tanzania and Türkiye.
Tanzania and MÜSİAD agree to strengthen investment coordination
To advance the proposed investments, both sides agreed to deepen cooperation with relevant government institutions, including the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA).
The cooperation is intended to streamline investment procedures, facilitate engagement with prospective investors and accelerate preparations for projects that MÜSİAD member companies may establish in Tanzania.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of Tanzania in Türkiye welcomed the association's willingness to pursue investment opportunities and reaffirmed its commitment to coordinating follow-up engagements aimed at facilitating the proposed investments.
The meeting forms part of Tanzania's broader efforts to attract international investment into productive sectors, strengthen industrial capacity and expand economic partnerships with Türkiye.
